Arum’s decided to stage the Crawford vs Khan fight in New York rather than Las Vegas, Nevada will make it slightly easier for Khan’s British fans to make the long journey over to the States to see him fight. Las Vegas is roughly 5,000 miles from England; whereas New York is only 3,400 miles. New York is a little bit closer journey for the UK fans than if the Crawford vs. Khan fight were to be staged in Vegas.

We just really feel that New York has become a hot place for boxing,” Arum said to Talksport.com. “For this fight, the 20,000 seats will go and we’ll sell it right out.

Khan boxed twice in 2018 as he made his comeback but, after blazing through Phil Lo Greco in less than a round in Liverpool, was knocked down by Samuel Vargas in Birmingham before grinding out a points decision victory.

The Brit has chosen to take on the three-weight world champion instead of his domestic rival Kell Brook

Amir Khan will challenge the outstanding WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

The 32-year-old rejected terms to finally meet his rival Kell Brook to instead pursue one of the world's finest fighters and what could prove his defining fight.


Khan - last a world champion in 2012 - will intriguingly also again be trained by the respected Virgil Hunter after two victories with Joe Goosen.

Crawford first came to the attention of British fight fans in 2014 when he outpointed Ricky Burns to become a world champion for the first time.

He has since unified the light-welterweight division before beating Jeff Horn to become a three-weight ruler.
